This was my first time in the Emirates.

Before going, I checked how I should behave and what to wear to be respectful and not come across as rude. I had some stereotypes about Muslim countries in my head, but in reality, nobody cares. The country is very civilized.

Abu Dhabi impressed me so, so much. Very clean and super safe city. They built the city big in mind, which is why it feels like there are almost no cars on the roads, even though it’s huge.

I went to the Zayed Museum, which just opened a couple of weeks ago. Some parts are still under construction, but what is ready has been opened for people to enjoy. The architecture is very futuristic.

The country’s history is just a bit more than 50 years, and it has developed so fast. It started as small coastal villages where people collected pearls. Sure, oil money made this miracle happen, but the whole direction of the country now is to detach from it. They have modern robotics centers, attract businesses and talented people. Innovations are in the air.

Everywhere, there is amazing service, friendly people, and great food. Most people speak English, and around 90% of the population are expats.

It wasn’t too hot when I was there, so I really enjoyed my time outdoors.

And yeah, this is more of a temporary place than a place to live. I think it’s a great opportunity for those who want to work and live in a modern city and try something really different.

I’d love to go to Dubai next and see how it is there.
